Mr. & Mrs. Smith, a luxury travel agency headquartered in the UK with offices in New York and Sydney, opened their LA division in 2016, by 2019 they had outgrown their space. In addition to requiring a larger office space, MMS planned to expand LA operations to include both retail and experience space for clients.
rsfLA worked closely with the key decision makers to first identify the perfect street. A tricky assignment because foot traffic and exposure were key, but also equally important were the style and feel of the neighborhood. rsfLA generated detailed demographic and listing survey reports for the all of the top retail thoroughfares throughout the Westside of Los Angeles.
After considering all options, MMS decided to pursue space Abbot Kinney, which is one of the most sought-after retail streets in the world and comes with a high barrier to entry.
rsfLA leaned on their existing broker relationships and market savvy to stay apprised of any upcoming vacancies and gain position ahead of competing offers. After 6 months of site tours and several offers on multiple locations, a space was secured that checked all the boxes.
The Result – The new creative live/work space was suited for MMS to service walk-in clients, host experiences, and conduct their office operations all under the same roof. And the roof top deck, with views of Venice and Marina del Rey, was a nice touch.
